Migration law is a complex area of practice and legislation is subject to regular change.
To ensure registered migration agents maintain and enhance their knowledge of migration law, they are required by the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) activities to remain registered.
In the twelve months prior to re-registration, agents need to earn at least 10 CPD points through the completion of MARA- approved CPD activities. At least six of these points must be core points.
Agents may also be required to complete mandatory activities each year.
RILC is a highly experienced in delivering education and training in all aspects of Australia’s refugee and Immigration immigration programme and is a registered provider of MARA- approved CPD activities.
RILC offers a program series of CPD seminars each alternate month commencing in February each year. Each series carries 12 MARA CPD points.
We offer a wide range of topics to meet the individual needs of both commercial and not-for-profit agents. Seminars are presented by senior RILC solicitors, specialist legal practitioners, barristers and tribunal members, all of whom bring with them a high degree of knowledge and practical experience in their field.
